This prestigious fellowship seeks to empower and engage the next generation of digital leaders in Africa, offering a unique opportunity for young Africans to contribute to shaping the future of internet governance on the continent.

About the Fellowship

The PAYAIG Fellowship is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at equipping 1000 African youth with the skills, knowledge, and platforms needed to influence internet governance policies both locally and globally. As digital transformation continues to reshape societies, the role of youth in ensuring that the internet remains open, inclusive, and beneficial to all is more critical than ever. This fellowship will provide selected ambassadors with in-depth training, mentorship, and networking opportunities, preparing them to take on leadership roles in the digital governance space.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of application.
  • Residency: Applicants must be citizens of an African country.
  • Interest and Engagement: Demonstrated interest in internet governance, digital rights, and related fields.
  • Leadership Potential: A proven track record of leadership or active involvement in community or national initiatives related to digital policy or governance.

What to Expect

Selected fellows will participate in a comprehensive training program that includes:

  • Capacity Building Workshops: Intensive sessions on key internet governance issues, policy development, and advocacy strategies.
  • Mentorship: Access to a network of experienced mentors from leading organizations in the field of internet governance and digital policy.
